Splish Splash, I was taking a bath…

One of my latest obsessions? Baths. What I’ve learned lately from sharing this obsession is that people are either completely disgusted by baths, or they love them. There are few who feel ambivalent.

First off, let me start by saying that I don’t take baths to get clean. Still gotta shower for that. I take baths to relax. Some music? A glass of wine or a beer? While I dream of a larger bathtub, I make it work, and here are some of my favorite ways to make a bath luxurious:

  • Rosemary: Real blogger Haylie Duff posted a blog about adding rosemary and other natural elements into her bath. I’ve added rosemary a few times, and it’s insanely detoxifying. You can read her blog here. I even gave her a Twitter shout out for this one (and she liked my tweet, so, we are best friend now, right?)
  • Epsom Salts: One of the most cost-effective (inexpensive and the bag will last you awhile). I get mine at Walgreens or CVS. You can get them whether you’re ballin’ or on a budget. Epsom salts have tons of health benefits, including relief or sore or achy muscles because of their anti-inflammatory properties. Learn more about what epsom salts can do!FullSizeRender
  • Bath Salts: Recently got a bottle of these citrusy gems (see photo) for my birthday (thanks, Steph!). They’re light and refreshing, and make the bath smell amazing. There are tons of varieties out there, and a little goes a long way!
  • Bath Bombs: If you’ve been to Lush, then you’ve seen these. They’re a lot of fun and come in lots of varieties so you can cater them to your skin type. Personally, I have to be careful what I use, as some products can irritate sensitive skin. So, my advice is to choose one that works for you, not just the prettiest and nicest smelling one.
  • Bath Soaks: If you have back issues like yours truly, soaks work wonders. I use one by Cures called Stimulating Soak. It helps with fluid retention (great in the foot spa bath for tired feet!) so if I’ve been on my feet all day or night at an event, this is my go-to.
