Let’s Catch Up

Andy and Stacy

The favorite thing about my last post is that I wrote it on an ordinary Sunday night. The day after Cinco de Drinko, so perhaps still feeling a little rough. Little did I know that the next day, I would receive the biggest surprise of my life.

On Monday, May 7, somewhere around 2:00 in the afternoon, Andy asked me to marry him in a way that I did not see coming! Since we had been talking about our impending engagement, I was on high alert for it, so he really had to work hard to catch me off guard!

The news of our engagement blew up so big that it’s obnoxious for me to reiterate it here, but alas, it’s my blog, so I do what I want!

Since the whirlwind week of our engagement, we’ve been lucky enough to celebrate with friends and family. We are planning an engagement party, have been asking our bridal party (well, I asked my girls, Andy is still working on his proposals), and our officiant. Most recently, we finally booked a date and venue, and are working on the other details! We are working on an awesome wedding website too. It is a lot of fun and we are enjoying the planning process!

A few weeks after the epic proposal came my 32nd birthday. For the first time in a long time, I felt no anxiety pains of getting a year older, and I wasn’t even thinking about my birthday, to be honest. I had (have) total #BridalBrain and that has been preoccupying me! But I am lucky that all of the wonderful people in my life helped me to celebrate another trip around the sun.

Lastly, I want to promote the fact that in honor of my 32nd birthday, I am working to raise the ambitious amount of $3,200 for the Montclair Township Animal Shelter, where we adopted our sweet girl Rick O’Shea from. If you’d like to support this cause, please go to my Facebook page, which you can find on the homepage of this blog. If you would like to give in another way, please let me know!

I’ll be back to blog soon about more important things like wine, beer, and my favorite skin care routine on a budget – especially important as a bride-to-be, but something I’ve always taken pride in.

Thanks for catching up with me!
