Put It On

Here’s a simple, quick post to help those wondering the best way to apply all of your fabulous products:

Layering: The rule of thumb is to apply your products from thinnest to thickest. Here’s an example: After washing your face, use toner, serum, moisturizer, then eye cream / sunscreen / or night cream.

Don’t rub it in: No, really, Don’t just pump some moisturizer onto your hands, rub your hands together and slather it on your face. Here’s why: First, your wasting potentially expensive product on your hands. Also, not all products should go all over your face (especially near your eyes)! Here’s what to do: Depending on the product, apply a dime-to-nickel sized amount of product on the back of your hand. Using your pointer, middle, and ring fingers, dab moisturizer on your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. Gently spread and pat into skin. For serum, use your middle and ring fingers to press product into your skin. For eye cream, use your ring finger only for a gentle touch.

Open Up: You can use the most expensive and best products out there, but if your pores are clogged, the product won’t be effective. My advice? Exfoliate twice a week, steam your face at least once a week, and be sure to remove all of your makeup before bed.
